Honey

Last week, the National Honey Board travelled to New York City for the Let’s Eat Speed Pitching Media Event. What exactly is speed pitching, you ask?  Well, we had a chance to sit down for five minutes each with some of the top food editors and media influencers and discuss our favorite topic: honey. Representatives from The Food Network, The Daily Meal, Bon Appetit, Real Simple, SHAPE, Access Hollywood, Family Circle, Sirius XM and more were on hand.

To showcase honey as more than just a drizzle on toast or in tea, we gave out samples of our Sparkling Honey Fruit Spritzer, along with our Prosciutto Honey Wraps. The Sparkling Honey Fruit Spritzer demonstrates honey’s ability to bring together the sour flavors of the berries in a refreshing beverage, perfect for entertaining. The Prosciutto Honey Wraps show that honey helps retain moisture in each juicy bite of the peach. It also adds a unique and flavorful marinade for grilling.

We were happy to hear that many of the editors were already honey aficionadas. They discussed the ways they use their favorite varietals, from Lavender to Avocado. However, there were a few who told us they only used honey in their tea, so we armed them with our “Seven Wonders of Honey” culinary cheat sheet . We hope this boosted their honey recipe repertoire!
