MiLB, NHB Team Up with Sweet Discount Offer for Baseball Fans

The National Honey Board has teamed up with Minor League Baseball to offer a Honey Incentive Program to baseball fans. This program is designed to increase the awareness and consumption of PURE honey while offering discounts on select merchandise.

During the 2010 season, five designated teams (listed below) will offer fan discounts on team souvenir merchandise at the teams' Official Souvenir Stores with proof of purchase of any brand or size container of PURE, natural honey. The Minor League Baseball season runs from April 8, 2010, to September 4, 2010, and the program offer from those designated teams will be available to fans all season long.

There is no limit to the number of times a customer can participate. The customer must simply bring an original receipt showing the purchase of PURE honey made between April 8 and September 4, 2010, to receive the discount. Each time a different receipt is brought in, a discount will be given. The team will retain the receipt to prevent reuse.

The Team Store will honor any grocery store receipt that shows the purchase of PURE, natural honey. Products listing honey as one of many ingredients on the product label or those products that are honey-flavored are NOT eligible for the discount. This offer is limited to containers of PURE honey. This offer is only valid for in-store purchases; online purchases do not qualify.

The following teams will participate in the Honey Incentive Program:

  • COLUMBUS CLIPPERS - 10% discount on team souvenir merchandise
  • IOWA CUBS - 25% discount on team souvenir merchandise
  • NASHVILLE SOUNDS - 20% discount on team souvenir merchandise
  • NEW BRITAIN ROCK CATS - 25% discount on team souvenir merchandise
  • NORFOLK TIDES - 20% discount on team souvenir merchandise

National Honey Board + Minor League Baseball®

The National Honey Board is pleased to announce its third year of support for Minor League Baseball. Working with five teams, the National Honey Board will expand its honey messaging through a strong in-park promotion and broadcast media presence.

The 2010 promotion will include electronic and billboard ballpark signage that will be displayed throughout the regular season and during post-season games. In addition, each ballpark will host between-innings honey games and trivia activities for fans, directly engaging them in the honey messaging efforts. For a broadcast media presence, the National Honey Board's “Pure Energy Play of the Game” will be featured on each team's live play-by-play radio broadcast.

“This is a great way to get honey information to kids and families, and the feedback from fans in the last two years tells us that minor league baseball is a good fit for the honey and energy message,” said Bruce Boynton, CEO of the National Honey Board.
