The Louisville Bats, which play in Louisville, Kentucky, are the AAA minor league baseball affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. The team, formerly known as the Louisville RiverBats, plays in the International League. The Bats play their home games at Louisville Slugger Field; the naming rights for the stadium were purchased by Hillerich & Bradsby, makers of the famous Louisville Slugger baseball bat.
Stadium Info: Slugger Field has been cited by USA Today as one of the ten Minor League Ball Parks that’s a must for a baseball fan to visit! The Bats are the former Louisville Redbirds franchise, and moved into Louisville Slugger Field in April 2000. The first run scored in Louisville Slugger Field was by then Louisville Bat and now NFL Hall of Famer inductee Dieon Sander. The Bats hosted the 2008 Triple A All-Star Game.
