As an organization responsible for the marketing and promotion of honey in the United States, the National Honey Board strongly supports the efforts of our industry and U.S. regulatory agencies to address any situation that brings into question the quality, purity or image of honey as a wholesome part of the American diet.

Although the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) tests honey sold in the United States, many domestic honey packers and importers also test the honey they buy from their suppliers (both U.S.-based and foreign) to ensure the highest possible product quality. If consumers want to learn more about the honey they purchase, we encourage them to contact the individual supplier to ask about the source and product testing methods used.
