Beeswax is an important and valuable product of the honeybee. Its price and markets are relatively stable, compared to honey; there is a demand in this country for about twice the amount produced here.
Much of the domestic beeswax is used in the manufacture of comb foundation. With increasingly severe demands being placed on the performance of comb foundation, particularly in warm climates, some manufacturers of comb foundation had strengthened their product by adding other materials to beeswax for such use.
