Tom Sanford invited me to speak to you on this subject. My first reaction was to beg off feeling that these matters should not be aired in a forum like this because of a tendency we sometimes see to
sensationalise remarks on these subjects out of context. He persuaded me that it is an area that needs to be discussed so that the subject can by put into perspective and considered rationally. I will begin by listing the sources of the various contaminants that may under some circumstances find their way into honey, then proceed to more detail on some of them, including some work done nearly 25 years
ago responding to concerns of that time.
