HONEY, AS THE FIRST sweetening agent known to man, has a long and interesting history. In addition to use for food, its origin, availability, and properties have been responsible for its wide variety of services to ancient and medieval man. Not the least of these was its use in medicine as a dressing wounds and inflammations, both internal and external.
