At its Twenty-first session in July 1995, the Codex Alimentarius Commission adopted the draft standards for honey and sugars at step 5, and agreed that further revision should be carried out by correspondence. In response to CL 1995/5-S, January 1995, the UK Secretariat has received comments on honey and sugar from Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Poland, USA; comments on honey from APIMONDIA (International Federation of Beekeepers Associations), National Honey Packers and Dealers Association of the USA, the National Honey Board of the USA; and comments on sugars from Australia, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Thailand, ICUMSA (International Commission for Uniform Methods of Sugar Analysis) and Tate and Lyle.
