IN 1937, Clark and Gring (3) presented a method for determining the carotenoids of corn (Zea Mays L.) but did not separate the carotene from cryptoxanthol. Consideration of cryptoxanthol in analytical methods for corn pigments is important because of its provitamin A activity.
