During an investigation of methods for the recovery of rubber from the leaves of Cryptostegia grandiflora, a brief study of some of the constituents of the Ieaf-cuticle wax was made. A fermentation pretreatment for rubber recovery resulted in a leaf fraction consisting of all the epidermis, veins, and latex ducts, and representing about 18% of the original leaf weight.
