Oh, What a New Year, Honey!

The new year is officially here and we can’t help but be excited.

Last year brought many new and exciting experiences for the National Honey Board (NHB) – soaking up the sun at South Beach Food and Wine, partnering with Disney on the epic retelling of The Jungle Book, launching our first retail program with our Honey Up Your Summer promotion, and connecting with foodies at the Feast of Portland. Along with making new friends, we also got to spend the year with some of our long-time friends like Chef David Guas and photographer Mark Boughton. But as another year closes, we can’t wait to see what the new one brings.

We have a feeling that 2017 will be pretty sweet. This year the NHB will continue to experience many more “firsts” – new promotions, new partnerships, new events and even a ...

We’re Getting into the Gift-Giving Season with Another Sweet Giveaway!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Honey Inspired Feast giveaway. There is no more denying that the holidays are here and in the spirit of giving, we’re hosting another giveaway!

One of our favorite (and in our opinion, most delicious) traditions at this time of year is the holiday baking/treat making. Spiced breads, nutty fudges, gooey caramels and Santa’s tasty cookies not only make our homes smell good, but they also bring us closer to the ones we hold most dear.

Did you know that honey is a natural humectant? What that means is that this sweet little ingredient draws in and retains moisture to ensure moist goodies with perfect crumble. This characteristic also extends the shelf life of your baked goods and helps you avoid having to throw out stale cookies after just a few days. It’s ...

Have a Happy Thanksgiving with Honey!

This is a big week in homes across America – it’s Thanksgiving week! The beginning of the holiday entertaining season, we are all looking forward to either welcome family and friends into our home, or traveling to someone else’s house for the holiday. It’s an exciting time of year when we get to spend quality time with loved ones who we may not have seen for days, weeks, months or even years. Thanksgiving is also known for being one of the most delicious holidays, because nothing brings families together like food.

As we prepare our menus – filled with creamy mashed potatoes, perfectly caramelized sweet potatoes, buttery rolls and, of course, a succulent turkey – we want to remind of how honey can take your holiday menu to the next level. With its many benefits, honey is truly the one ...

Honey Shines at IFEC 2016

The National Honey Board (NHB) enjoyed a sweet showing at 2016 IFEC -- the International Foodservice Editorial Council's annual conference. Held this year in Minneapolis, the multi-day event brings together some 200 foodservice industry trade editors and PR pros from food commodity boards and brands.

Each year at IFEC, the NHB endeavors to showcase honey in new and trending ways to spark editorial interest and coverage; the 2016 conference was no exception.

For the opening night "Chef Showcase," the NHB had the good fortune of being partnered with Chef Jim Kyndberg, executive chef of the conference's host hotel -- Radisson Blu Minneapolis.  Chef Kyndberg dished up a delectable Honey-braised Bison and Honey Glazed Acorn Squash -- a small plate with huge taste appeal. The tender bison was ...
