CIA Students to Face Off in the 'Final Four' Cook-off


Over the past year, the National Honey Board (NHB) has been working with the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) to coordinate the inaugural "Sweet 16 Honey Recipe Challenge."  The challenge is designed to educate and inspire future chefs about honey's versatility in the kitchen. The recipe contest was open to all enrolled students at CIA's Greystone, Hyde Park and San Antonio Campuses and we have narrowed all the amazing recipes down to the Final Four contestants.

With great pleasure, we would like to announce the Final Four contestants in our "Sweet 16 Honey Recipe Challenge." In no particular order:

  • Goat Cheese Tempura with Honey Dipping Sauces - Perry X. Hyde Park
  • Honey-Seared Ahi Tuna with Citrus and Greens - Jennifer S. Greystone
  • Ba Kwa Style Pork Burger with Honey-Lime Pickle, Sweet Thyme Aioli and Okinawan Sweet Potato Fries with Kecap Manis - Eric H. Hyde Park
  • Honey and Blackberry Ice Cream Sandwich - Courtney W. Greystone

Congratulations to our Final Four!  These four students will compete this weekend in the "Final Four Cook-Off" at CIA Greystone in Napa Valley, to determine the Grand Prize winner.  Good luck to our Final Four contestants and we look forward to our visit to Napa.
