Last Friday, we had our Satellite Media Tour (SMT) to showcase how honey can be a great asset to your holiday entertaining menu. If you'll recall, we completed a back-to-school themed SMT earlier in the year, but this time, we chose a holiday entertaining theme in the hopes of reaching a different audience.
For this tour, we were lucky enough to work with great brands like Keurig and Frei Brothers Reserves. Both of these brands, along with honey (of course!), worked seamlessly to create holiday party planning ideas that look and feel effortless.
We were also fortunate to work with Martie Duncan, who was a finalist on Season 8 of "Food Network Star." Representing the great state of Alabama and home cooks everywhere, Martie competed on Alton Brown's team for her own Food Network show. She has a genuine love of honey and that passion came through in each of her many interviews, throughout the day.
Martie highlighted honey's versatility and its unique flavor profile that complements both sweet and savory dishes. Also, she showed viewers that honey can span your entire holiday menu by incorporating it into your appetizers, entrees, desserts and even drinks.
We completed each segment with our Honey Whiskey Clove-Glazed Ham recipe and by letting viewers know that instead of buying one from the grocery store, you can easily make it at home. By mixing some honey, bourbon and cloves together and brush it on top of a precooked, spiral cut ham, you can create a delicious entrée that is sure to be a crowd pleaser. And, honey will also aid in giving the ham a beautiful golden-brown hue once removed from the oven.
We thought the tour was a great success and if you missed it in your local area, be sure to check it out here!
