Last week, the National Honey Board (NHB) was a sponsor at the 2012 Megaton concert at Citi Field Stadium in Flushing, NY, treating concert goers to delicious honey raspados. Honey raspados are a lot like snow cones, but we used honey to sweeten these treats, in place of the more traditional snow cone syrups.
As fans made their way into the stadium for the show, NHB's honey raspados became their go-to stop, as they made the time to visit the honey booth with their friends and family to enjoy our treats. In total, the booth attracted 1,400+ visitors! NHB's presence was definitely felt, as we also distributed hundreds of recipe booklets to educate consumers how they can make the delectable raspados in the comfort of their own home – and with their own honey – as well.
Megaton is a Latin festival that brought out a crowd of over 45,000 music lovers, who enjoyed top artists such as Ricardo Arjona, Gilberto Santa Rosa and Wisin y Yandel among many others. Even well known English-language acts like 50 Cent made special guest appearances to support Latin music and culture!
The NHB had a wonderful time at Megaton and couldn't be happier with the honey raspados event. It was a great success and we were able to reach many concert goers with our honey messaging.
