Champlain Valley Apiaries is a 3rd generation, family owned business. Founded in 1931 by Charles Mraz, we have been producing and packing delicious Vermont honey for over 80 years. We manage 1200 colonies of honey bees in the Champlain Valley of Vermont. We produce both a liquid and naturally crystallized “Raw” honey. The primary floral sources are clover and alfalfa. The naturally crystallized honey is unheated and unfiltered. The enzymes and esters that give it a delicious flavor and many healthful properties remain intact because of this. We treat our bees organically for the Varroa mite and only leave honey on them for their winter feed, we do not feed them corn syrup or sugar water as is the common practice. Our bees remain in their home locations year round and are not moved for pollination purposes. Our honey is a delicious natural alternative to processed sugar and artificial sweeteners.
