My father and I have a thriving beekeeping business. And business is sweet. We keep honey bee colonies throughout the Farmington River Valley and offer pollination, apiary management and beekeeping services for farmers, growers and local hobbyists. We also extract, pack and supply wholesale liquid honey and hive products to select markets, country and specialty stores, health food stores, bakeries, restaurants and farm stands. Our honey is extracted during our harvest season from late spring through early fall, and we buy varietal and wildflower honey and hive products from beekeepers who we know follow the same responsible honey bee management practices as we do. We are dedicated to our craft of beekeeping and support many professional and community organizations aligned with our stewardship values. Our high standards require that we work to optimize the health of our colonies through improved nutrition and control of pests, parasites and pathogens that threaten the survival of the honey bee as a critical pollinator.
