The Way Nature Intended

Discover the Beauty of Pure Honey

Discover the Beauty of Pure Honey

Did you know that honey is a natural moisturizer? Cleopatra knew, and she incorporated honey into her everyday beauty routine. Our hope is that others will follow in the famous queen’s sweet footsteps. To help make this happen, the National Honey Board hosted three intimate beauty media events on the road to educate folks about the beauty benefits of honey.  We visited three key media markets for the events: Los Angeles, Dallas and Atlanta. The events allowed us to share research that confirms what we’ve all suspected for ages: that honey has power as a beauty ingredient, particularly as a skin moisturizer. Each event featured a customized five-step do-it-yourself process for guests allowing them to experience the benefits of honey first-hand. A customized beauty foods menu including fare featuring honey along with other foods rich in antioxidants, vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids was also part of the event.

Bee-utiful Highlights:

In Los Angeles, Spokesperson Ole Henriksen, a renowned celebrity beauty expert, touted the benefits of honey as a beauty ingredient, often referring to his love of honey dating back to his childhood spent in Europe. Ole developed a five-step do-it-yourself facial treatment for pampering at home. These included: Lavender Facial Compress, Honey Yogurt Purifying Cleanser, Re-texturing Deep Cleansing Honey and Flaxseed Scrub, Shredded Oatmeal Calmative Milk and Honey Moisturizing Mask, and Healing Application—Lavender Anti-wrinkle Complexion Oil

In Dallas, Spokesperson Amy Bohn, owner of Spa Habitat, discussed how she incorporates honey into her spa and product line, Clovertree Apothecary. Amy led the group through a five-step do-it-yourself facial treatment for pampering at home. Attendees were encouraged to participate at the event. The treatment included: Honey Facial Wash, Honey pH Balancing Facial Steam, Honey-Lemon Holistic Purifying Treatment, Honey-Lemon Exfoliating and Moisturizing Facial Scrub and Moisturizing Honey Banana Mask

In Atlanta, Spokespersons HollyBeth Anderson of HollyBeth Organics and Aviary owner Amy Leavell Bransford led participants through an educational session on the beauty benefits of honey. Amy discussed the NHB research supporting honey as natural moisturizer via hand-painted chalk boards. HollyBeth led the group through a five-step do-it-yourself facial treatment for pampering at home: Honey Purifying Cleansing Oil, Grits and Honey Scrub, Honey Skin Toner, Honey and Milk Refining Mask, and Honey Lip Balm.
