Honey Chili Paneer

YIELD: 2-3 Servings

INGREDIENTS

For Battered Paneer: - -

3 tablespoons - white flour

a pinch - baking soda

2 tablespoons - corn flour

1/4 cup - water

1 teaspoon - salt

as needed - vegetable oil

1 cup - Paneer, Diced 1/2-inch Squares

For Assembly: - -

2 tablespoons - vegetable oil

1/2 cup - onion, chopped

2 tablespoons - garlic, minced

1 each - Green Chili Pepper, Chopped

1 1/2 tablespoons - Ginger, Minced

1 tablespoon - soy sauce

1 tablespoon - Chili Paste (sambal)

1/2 tablespoon - corn starch

2 tablespoons - honey

1 cup - green pepper, diced

as needed - Cilantro Leaves (for garnish)

DIRECTIONS

For Battered Paneer:

Combine flour, baking soda, corn flour, water, salt and vegetable oil in a bowl and make a smooth, thick batter.

Add paneer, coat with the batter and transfer to a frying pan. Deep fry in oil over a high flame until the paneer is golden brown.

Drain on absorbant paper and set aside.

For Assembly:

Heat the vegetable oil in a sauté pan and add the onion, garlic, green chili pepper and ginger. Sauté over a high flame for 1 to 2 minutes.

Add the soy sauce, chili paste, corn starch and honey and allow it to come to a quick boil.

Toss in the green pepper and battered paneer, mix well.

Garnish with the cilantro leaves. Serve immediately.
