Honey-Glazed Bulgogi Beef

YIELD: 4 Portions

INGREDIENTS

3 each - garlic clove, minced

3 each - scallions, chopped

1/2 cup - onion, chopped

1/2 cup - soy sauce

2 tablespoons - sesame oil

1/4 cup - buckwheat honey

1 tablespoon - sesame, toasted

3/4 cup - Asian pear, Juice only

1 tablespoon - gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)

1/2 cup - hoisin

1 pound - rib rye, sliced across the grain on the diagonal bias (1/8-inch thick)

DIRECTIONS

In a large bowl combine all ingredients, except beef, and whisk to make sure everything is incorporated.

Add the beef to this marinade and let stand under refrigeration for at least 1 hour.

Remove the beef from the marinade.

Over a hot grill or oiled sauté pan, cook the beef until the outside is caramelized.

Serve immediately.

Serving Suggestion: Serve with sautéed green peppers and onions.
